The 2016 Athens and Epidaurus Festival was organized with artistic director Vangelis Theodoropoulos. The theatres of the festival are Epidaurus, Mikri Epidaurus, Herodeion and Piraeus 260. For Epidaurus it was decided to stage nine performances. In fact, the last performance in Epidaurus, The Birds (2016), is also the one that closes the round of theatrical performances of the festival. For Herodion, the selections were mainly for musical performances, and for the venues in Piraeus 260, both foreign productions and contemporary Greek creations were chosen.
