The fascinating life of the great Greek lyricist Eftychia Papagiannopoulou inspires Angelos Frantzis's “Eftyhia” with a wonderful cast of Karyofylia Karabeti, Katia Goulioni, Pygmalion Dadakaridis, Thanos Tokaki and Dina Michaelidou. The unique personality of Eftihia Papagiannopoulou was reflected in her lyrics, which became some of the greatest and most enduring hits, such as “My Past Loves”, “Delusional Dream”, “I am an Aitos without wings”, “Sunsets”, “Imagination”, “You are my life”, “Mantoulou Ball”, “The Holy Apostle”, “Petradaki, Petradaki”, “They broke my baglama”, “Life has two doors” (“My last night”), “Throw medicine in the glass”. This year, director Angelos Frantzis meets the irreconcilable Eftyhia in the person of Karyofilia Karampeti and Katia Goulioni, who play the lyricist in two different ages. Based on the turbulent life and great work inherited by Greek music from the magnificent pen of lyricist Eftishias Papagiannopoulou, the film, written by Katerina Bey, draws inspiration from the passions and weaknesses of this exuberant, unconventional and pioneering woman who left her indelible mark on folk song.
