Everything is Opera! - Educational programs from the Athens Concert Hall
The Athens Concert Hall continues its educational work for children, with a performance that last year was supported by young and old.
After the great success achieved last November by the two performances of the Megaros educational program “Everything is opera!”, our little friends who did not have time to watch it, now have the opportunity to see it through the Megaros website and facebook page, where it will be available on demand from Monday 1 March and for a month. In this broadcast, we will reveal to you some of the secrets of opera, but also all the professions that work together to create a stage production. How can a simple bathtub turn into a theater stage, and its curtain into a magic curtain? What's behind this strange scene? Where does the music we hear come from? Who sings? Who are the people who transform music into a whole performance that comes to life on stage? The play, which is part of the successful cycle The Children's Palace, is based on an idea by Michaella Hatziangelou, who signs the text and dramaturgy. The educational materials are curated by the head of educational programs of MMA Sofia Topouzis. The direction, scenography and lighting are by Elias Karellas. Assistant director, Maria Baloutsou. The visual material accompanying the performance was directed by Ioanna Giannouli, while the direction of photography is by Alexandros Tserepas. Actors Dimitris Makalias (Odysseas) and Antigoni Psikhrami (Alexandra) will participate, as well as singers Olga Papakonstantinou (soprano) and Yiannis Kalyvas (tenor). The musical preparation and accompaniment on stage was undertaken by Yiannis Aeriniotis. The production was carried out with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, as part of the measures to support artistic production due to COVID—19.
