A doctor moves to a remote village to do his farming. There, he falls in love with a vulnerable girl who lives isolated from her superstitious fellow villagers because she suffers from a rare disease that makes her skin look like the bark of a tree. Determined to cure her, the doctor will soon realize that things are not as they seem, especially when she reveals to him a paradoxical way to save her. Inspired by stories of the Greek folk tradition that have been rendered as close to realism as possible, The Unsolved presents the meeting point of two worlds: the modern West with the mysticism of nature, but also of reason with emotion. Set in a brownstone in the heart of Parnonas, a place that has inspired myths and legends of the past, the film is reminiscent of the stories that grandmothers whispered some evenings around the fireplace, creepy stories wrapped in a metaphysical veil.
