A composer goes one morning to deposit money in the bank and is accused of forgery. Hounded by the police, a gang of counterfeiters, and a stranger, he lives in panic. The unproven accusation against him brings to light the deepest feelings of guilt stemming from his sterile existence and, above all, from his inability to produce creative work. He goes on the run and begins to wander into an unknown “land” where his painful adventures will ultimately prove redemptive. The film is a psychological drama in the form of the “dream” thriller.
