The bijoux de kant was created in December 2010 by the artist Yannis Skourletis, the Musician-Composer Costas Dalakouras and the Sociologist Aris Asprooulis. Since then the team has been added Director — Actress Electra Ellinikiotis, Curator — Visual Artist Alexios Papazacharias, Poet Glykeria Basdeki and Artist Konstantinos Skourletis. Although theatre was the springboard for the creation of the group, bijoux de kant seeks to overcome the limitations of the concept of theatre group and to form a research platform that brings together different fields, both within and outside the realm of creative expression. Theatre and performance, contemporary music and new technological media, the history of literature and the theory of art, the visual idiom and hypocritical techniques are some of the elements that bijoux de kant attempts to connect so as to create a universal and timeless imprint, which appeals to a broad social body and transcends the boundaries of the dominant culture, reinforcing the position of the artistic act as a critical attitude.
