Genre: drama. Staged at Multispace of Culture - Transit. Direction by Chrysanthi Korniliou. With Giannis Lampropoulos, Giorgos Kapetanakos, Efi Chantzouli, Giannis Dafniotidis, Ioanna Chrysomalli and others. Year 2022. 180 minutes.
A work so timely that it proves how ahead Goethe was for his time. And this masterpiece of world dramaturgy is presented by director Chrysanthi Korneliou in the best possible way. The eternal struggle between good and evil unfolds before you and the performances of the actors are so powerful that the passions, questions, and emotions of the roles portrayed are effortlessly conveyed to the viewer. This performance is a real embroidery. The actors give their best and, tied like the links of a mental chain, manage to support the work.
Yiannis Lambropoulos in the role of Faust is captivating, with pure reason, it is living proof that in order to play a historical figure like Faust, you need not only talent and experience.
George Kapetanakos a faithful copy of evil. The cunning Mephistopheles. Although the quagmire is very fragile between caricature and truth it manages and stands firmly in its role presenting a “devil” that will surely remain unforgettable for you.
Ioanna Chrysomalli wins the impressions in the second part of the show. Her innocence and her ability to play the tragic role of Margaret foreshadows a bright future.
Yannis Dafniotides is an authentic roller player. In the three roles he incarnates, he gives recitals. The enthusiastic Wagner, the naive comic student and the tragic Valentine. Alternations that show talent and ability to cope in any theatrical genre.
Evdokia Kateriniou faithfully performs the role of the thong, while in the role of Lisa she plays a character that we have all met at some point in our lives. And doing it in such a way does not go unnoticed.
Efi Hantzouli delights in the role of Martha. Margarita's neighbor. A light note in the second part of the show. The music, cleverly chosen, by Yiannis Dafniotidis does not act as a bridge between the scenes but becomes one with the action, the speech and the emotions. Konstantinos Sakoulas's lighting combined with Angelos Delis' scenery paint the wonderful background of this dramatic work of art, while Vania Alexandrova's costumes taken from another era put the final but important touches on the painting. The kinesiology of Simon Patroclus was finally measured and designed with every detail for the scene of the Passage.
Chrysanthi Korneliou dared and managed to successfully stage this historical tragedy and together with the actors of the show managed to redeem not only the heroes of the play, but also me.
