The female vocal ensemble CHÓRES, under the artistic direction of Marina Satti, returns to the Alternative Stage of the National Opera at the CPSN with two new programs focusing respectively on theater and music, which will be presented on June 4 and 5, 2022. The first programme, CHÓRES on stage (4/6), includes music by Charalampos Gogios for the theatre (Antigone by Sophocles and Medea by Bost), works that will be presented in first performance (as work-in-progress) in their transcription for the female vocal ensemble CHÓRES, as well as a polyphonic narration of Alexander's short story Papadiamantis Eros — taught and directed by Giorgos Matziaris and musical composition by Simela Emmanouilidou. The second, purely concert, program CHÓRES in concert (5/6) will present a multi-collection anthology of choral works by Alexandros Kapsokavadis, Petrou Klabanis, Nikos Kempisou, Martas Mavroidi, Alki Balta, Lagios Bardos, Christos Samaras, Angelou Triantafyllou and Filippou Tsalachouri, most of them polyphonic arrangements of Greek traditional songs.
