“Erotokritos” is an autonomous poetic universe of incredible richness and narrative power. The show dives into this with freedom, illuminating pieces that express key issues in relation to the limits of human will vis-à-vis social norms and their transgression. Following the fascinating story of Kornaros, the show focuses on the figure of Arethusa, a woman who is not passively left in the “shooting cycle”, but asserts her self-determination with bravery, passion and hope.The show follows a code familiar to modern theater that emphasizes strength of narrative and, above all, of music: everything is born and evolves in music, which is constantly echoed by the words and which is, at the same time, an essential medium of the plot of the work itself. Music is the raw material of the performance, which draws from the musicality of speech and bodies and composes an overall experience aimed first at the senses.
