The Violations, the Theatrical Analogue of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, which this year bears the general title “Love Games”, continues this month in Faros under the artistic direction of Hector Lygizos. Love, deception and gender identity, as discussed by William Shakespeare in four of his most characteristic and entertaining comedies, are the subjects of this year's CPSN series of dramatized analogies. After the Love Race Agony Agonos (translation: Stratis Pashalis, director: Aris Balis) and Twelfth Night (translation: Nikos Chatzopoulos, director: Katerina Giannopoulou) is scheduled, Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 March at 17.00, The Comedy of Misunderstandings translated by Dionysis Kapsali, adapted by Hector Lygizou and directed by Manos Vavadakis. A few words about the project In The Comedy of Misunderstandings, a merchant from Syracuse and his servant arrive in Ephesus, unaware that their twin brothers live in this city. In just a few hours, and after repeated misunderstandings, the lives of all four misguided heroes will be completely turned upside down. One of Shakespeare's earliest works, but also the shortest, this storm-paced farce, which delightfully combines physical comedy with witty puns, manages to speak in a touching way about the crisis of the married couple, but - above all - of another couple: the relationship of society of ourselves with its unknown, dark and invisible side.
