The play takes place in a rural area of Ireland, with its central theme the dangerous relationship between an authoritarian elderly mother and her caring daughter, a relationship of dependence that becomes unbearable for the daughter is presented with the last chance to love, which for the mother means the unwanted prospect of a nursing home.
