The masterful and Tony Award-winning musical Into the Woods by leading composer and lyricist Steven Sondheim and the great writer James Lapine returns to the Alternative Stage of the National Opera, CPSN, in an approved version for piano and percussion. From December 14, 2023 and for nineteen performances until January 7, 2024, one of the most elaborate musicals of all time invites you to get lost in a forest of desires and wishes in the company of the heroes of the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm, Charles Perrault and the culture of Walt Disney Y. In the woods, whoop! Into the Woods is a dark coming-of-age tale full of compelling melodies, constant twists, disarming humor and evocative atmosphere. Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Jack and his bean Rapunzel are lost deep in the forest trails and entangled in a complex story that upends their familiar paths and unfolds in a completely unpredictable and exciting way, just like life.. The music direction and music instruction has been undertaken by the chief musician Stathis Soulis, the direction and translation are signed by Dimitris Agiopetrits-Bogdanos, one of the most charismatic and creative directors of his generation, while the lyrics are performed by Julia Diamantopoulou. There is an excellent cast of distinguished actors and singers, accompanied on the piano by Christos Sakellaridis and on percussion by Thodoris Vazakas and Kostas Seremeti.
