“History without a name,” is the title of the book, not because the author fails to give it one, but because, the more substantial and important something, whether fact or emotion, the harder it is to express it in words. You can't give it identity or character just by putting a caption on it. The heart has its own truth, deep down
hidden in our soul.


Those who live burn, burn.
The others just survive.


The stage is full of roses, the garden of Penelope Delta's house in Kifissia.
The play begins and the actors are revealed by removing a cellophane that covered them, like statues forgotten by time.Directional find like the younger version of Penelope who is found, wearing white, lying in the garden and unseen by the cover of flowers. It emerges when he notices her Ionas Dragoumis, and her face is illuminated like spring by her adoration for him.

April 1941. Betty Livanou, the woman who always wears black, is Penelope Delta who, in the last 24 hours of her life, before her suicide, relives in her memory the three days together with Ion, her own Ion, that would change her life and determine her future forever. As he writes, recalling the moments he lived with Ion::: “I remember everything. Everything that happened in those three days. I forgot nothing. And in a few hours when I see you, we will remember them together again.” They met in 1905. The simple acquaintance developed into a deep friendship and this in turn into a dead-end love.

The play alternates between April 1941 and June 1908 when thirty-four years old Delta is sent by her husband to Dr. Friedman's psychiatric clinic in Gainfarn, on the outskirts of Vienna. Professor Friedman is her comforter and her confessor. This is about a man who loved her from the first moment and immediately understood the tragedy that his patient was living. “She succumbed to caresses but not to union... She wants to leave her marriage with her head held high,” she muses, trying to cure her of her illicit love for Dragoumis.
. She herself has confessed to her husband Stefanos Delta of her unrequited and unfinished love for the diplomat Ion Dragoumis. Married tycoon, with three daughters, makes two suicide attempts. Three days left to decide if she can? to go against society, her family, and even God himself. How many men does it take to bend a woman? I wonder, the Delta. She is torn between her children, whom her husband threatens to deprive her of if she abandons him, and her heart, which obeys no logic.
“How did Cicero write it? Love and reason are like the sun and the moon. When one rises, the other sinks. She knows it firsthand.” “Don't get tired of loving me and believing in what we have,” Jonah told her again and again.

The “must” of life, become bound to her happiness, cause her misery. Penelope falls into melancholy, her mind becomes sick, her soul wears out, and finally lives for no other reason than to remember the one who was meant to be the one.
“I know I'm crazy, but love drives someone crazy,” Delta monologues.

“It's not just what we've lived that matters. Perhaps more important are what we did not experience. The unfulfilled loves, all the “I love you” we cringed, all the bodies we touched only mentally, all the lips we dreamed of but were afraid to kiss. Maybe our “no's” made us who we are, not our “yes”. Maybe.

So we live, the last 24 hours of this glamorous personality. On the occasion of the discussions and the care of her beloved housekeeper, Marianthi, the author hears word for word the extraordinary announcements of the radio station, which tries to keep the morale of the people high even if it is defeated in battle.
. On May 2, 1941, Delta dies, putting an end to her life.
