Two people with different stories experience experiences that make them cross their personal boundaries and learn a lesson in humanity and hope from those they considered losers.
A fisherman gathering refugees from the waters around the Italian island of Lampedusa and a British Chinese woman knocking on doors collecting late loan payments come out of their “safe” distancing to discover brotherhood and warmth.
