The Ephorate of Antiquities of Kilkis, with the support of the Municipality of Paionia, participates in the action of the Ministry of Culture and Sports “All Greece One Culture” with the dance drama A Ψ H H F O N T A S T O Y S T O Y O Y O Y On the Eternal Journey of Alkyone a Folk Opera, presented by the ALCEDO FOLK BANDIn the ancient city of Europa on September 7 and 8, 2021 The unjustly transformed Alcyone embarks on a journey full of twists and turns to meet those who have resisted divine authority. Daphne, the Spider, Odysseus, Diomedes, Hercules, until he finally reached the one who loved people the most... Alcedo composed a new and fresh text inspired by the stories of Ovid's transformations. Thus, they create a choral drama, which they call folk opera. New and original music, dances, intermedia, songs and unexpected “chorales” unfold and reveal the evolution of the story, while the dance trio Araneum constantly reconstructs the images of the narrative on stage. The six musicians often participate in stage actions, while in various ways they contribute not only to mythological “transformations” but also to those of the musical form.
