When Eva, a small Greek-Romanian who has trouble speaking, loses both her parents in an accident on the same day, Luke, her reclusive racist grandfather who has never seen her, is the only Greek relative who can take custody of her, but he stubbornly refuses her. Eva's unknown fate is then assumed by Marina, a social worker with a broken family, who decides to fight Luke and his past, forcing him and herself to face their salvation for the first time.
