The series satirizes well-known figures and current events of its time, including Barack Obama and Madonna, as well as other fictional characters of the time, such as those from The Twilight Saga film series, while the series takes place in Greece in 2010 and satirically presents the lives of the heroes during the financial crisis.
The unlovable but the have-nots takes place in modern Athens where Haros goes, wanting to retire from his obligations. However, he has a deficit of an obolus in his books, what Menippos owes since he died. Mercury, as the carrier of souls and responsible for whom Menippos did not have the obolus, along with Haro try to help Menippos make money to pay him the obolus.
