One of the most important years in the modern history of Eleusis is 2016, a year in which the city passed in the final phase and is vigorously claiming the title of European Capital of Culture for 2021. The Aeschylia Festival, organized by the Municipality of Eleusis for 42 years, for another year hosts events that turn their eyes to Europe.
