An online bridge between three European streaming platforms that unites peoples through European cinema
Continuing the pioneering ideas in the field of cinema, Cinobo in collaboration with two other leading independent European streaming platforms, FILMIN and MYMOVIES, join forces to create the Arkadiko Film Festival.
Arkadiko Film Festival will be an online film festival with a European label. The first festival will be held from 1 to 30 April 2024 and will be accessible in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece and Cyprus.
The name of the festival is inspired by the enduring heritage of the ancient Arkadikos Bridge in Argolis, the oldest preserved bridge in Europe, symbolizing the connection of people and places through years, ages, places, perceptions. Similarly, Arkadiko Film Festival aims to connect audiences with the past and present of European cinema — crossing countries and generations.
The festival programme includes 12 feature films, combining six contemporary titles with six classics, selected in a framework of six thematic modules by the programme directors of the platforms. Through the double bills, a dialogue is formed on important issues of modern society. The six premieres will compete for the Audience Award.
This initiative, supported by Creative Europe Media, marks the first time that European streaming platforms have held a joint film festival, offering a rare opportunity for film lovers across Southern Europe to explore the breadth of European filmmaking.
Details of the films and themes, as well as the full programme of the festival, will be announced shortly.
