Prolongation of performances for Abiyer after Easter
Due to the warm response of audiences and critics, Ronald Harwood's “Abiyer” directed by Manolis Dounia, continues for a few performances after Easter.
Hypothesis
The play takes place in the vortex of the Second World War, in a crumbling theater of the English countryside. Shortly before the 227th performance of “King Lear”, Sir (Alexander the Miller) collapses and is overcome by his insecurities. The only person he can rely on is his abductor, Norman (Manos Vakousis), who tries to inspire him and boost his confidence so that the show will not be canceled. At the same time Lady (Annie Lulu) and stage manager Madge (Eugenia Apostolou) struggle to convince Sir that it may be time for him to retire from acting. And all this while the audience in the theater square is waiting and sirens do not let anyone forget that the danger of aerial bombardments threatens them at any time.
Cast: Alexandros Mylonas, Manos Vakousis, Anny Loulou, Evgenia Apostolou, Kostas Laskos, Dimitris Margaritis.
