The committee of the award consists of Maya Lyberopoulou (honorary president), Dio Kangelaris, Matina Kaltaki, Dimitris Lignadis, Michael Marmarinos, Reni Pittaki. The Melina Mercouri Bar is awarded every year to a young actress of the theatre, in memory of actress Melina Merkouri. It was first awarded in March 2007, for the year 2006.
