The show, which was successfully presented in the previous two seasons, returns to the Jenny Karezis Theatre from October 1st and pre-sale has begun.
After two very successful theatrical seasons at the National Theatre, the performance, which won over audiences and critics, is added to the artistic program of the New World Theatre and is presented in the 2018-2019 season at the Tzeni Karezis Theatre. For their performance in the show, Ioanna Kolliopoulou was honored with the Melina Mercouri Award and Yiannis Niarros with the Dimitris Horn Award.
This is not the first time that the award-winning film director Yannis Ekonomidis has come into contact with the theatrical process.
In 2006 he commissioned 90oC with the adaptation and theatrical transfer of his film “Spirtokutos”. In the immediate following period, he was awarded the Audience Award in the category “Modern Greek Work”.
And if his work had unlocked the door of the Greek petty bourgeois family, the first play he wrote and directed exclusively for the theater, entitled “Stella Sleep”, introduces us inside the luxurious villa of the newly wealthy Greek, where prosperity coexists with vulgarity and relationships have color of money. The brutality of the language and the cynicism of the attitudes are the weapons of Okonomidis's performance, where the viewer feels an eyewitness to a comedy-tragic “slice of life”.
