One of the greatest Greek playwrights has passed away at the age of 91. Her work is inextricably linked with the Art Theater and Charles Kun, which is why the theater issued a farewell letter in honor of the great Lula Anagnostakis.
It is with great sadness that the Art Theatre bids farewell to the greatest contemporary Greek playwright Loula Anagnostakis. Her life and work have been inextricably linked with the Art Theatre and its history, eight of her twelve plays, which were distinguished in Greece and Europe, were staged for the first time at the Art Theatre. Lula Anagnostaki first appeared, directed by Karolou Kun, in May 1965 with the Trilogy of the City (“The Overnight”, “The City”, “The Parade”), followed by: Antonio or the Message (1972), The Victory (1978) and The Cassette (1982) directed by Karolou Kun, The The Gun (1987) - the last work directed by Karolos Koon - and The Journey Away (1995) directed by Mimi Kougioumtzi, with Reni Pittaki starring in almost all of her works at the Art Theatre. The funeral service of Loula Anagnostakis will take place today, October 10, 2017 at the First Cemetery of Athens at four o'clock in the afternoon.
