Kala azar
On the edge of a big city, somewhere in the south of Europe, a young couple starts their day with the routine of their job: collecting dead pets from their owners' homes and transporting them to the crematorium.
Outside of their professional context, they collect and cremate dead animals that they find on the edges of the highway. In this desolate environment, the stoic persistence of couples creates a space through which their love grows. Until the moment when they themselves cause a car accident and become responsible for the death of an animal themselves.
