Synopsis
Two words about the project
In 1890, a young Russian teacher, Leo Tolchinsky, arrives in the Ukrainian village of Kulientshnikov to teach and educate the daughter of the village doctor, Sofia Zubritsky. But he soon discovers that his ultimate goal is to break with his wit, a curse that has been weighing on this village for 200 years. The curse of the village is none other than the eternal stupidity, to which all residents and visitors are condemned within the twenty-four hour period from the time they arrive. Leo is seduced by the beauty of Sofia Zubritsky, whom the Count of the village, Gregor Yusekevich, whose ancestor has cursed this village, wants to marry.
