The Pantheon is the oldest operating cinema and theatre in Patras.
It is located at the intersection of D streets. Gounari and Kanakari, in the city center. The open-air theatre Paradisos was built in 1900 on the site where the Pantheon is located, which operated only in the summer and until 1910. In 1923, the Pantheon was built in the same place, which functioned on the roof of the building and was summer, while in 1924 the winter hall also operates. On 28/10/1940 most of the building was destroyed after being hit by a bomb during the bombing of Patras by the Italian air force.
After the end of the war it was reconstructed and the REX cinema operated on the ground floor until 1991. The Pantheon continues to operate on the roof of the building until 1961 when a new reconstruction is carried out and a new hall is built on the roof, which houses the Pantheon to this day. The new hall has a capacity of 1,000 seats for theatre and cinema use. The Pantheon still operates today with use as a theater and cinema.
