Cannes Film Festival: World premiere of the film “Dodo” by Panos Koutra

30 May 2022
The film Dodo, written and directed by Panos Koutra, will have its world premiere at the 75th Cannes Film Festival, in the official Cannes Premier program, as announced. The premise of the film is as follows: “A dodo, a species of bird that went extinct 300 years ago, appears in Athens in the luxurious residence of a family for whom the crucial countdown of the daughter's life-saving marriage to a wealthy heiress has begun. The boundaries between reason and madness will be tested and the situation will soon be out of control.” The producer of Koutra's films (“Strella”, “Xenia”, “Attack of the Giant Moussaka”), which is an old acquaintance of the Cannes festival, is Eleni Koscifidou, a production company 100% Synthetic Films Ltd and co-produced by the Hellenic Film Center. Two more international co-production films with Greek participation in their production and Greek co-producers are expected to claim the Golden Palm this year in Cannes. One is “Crimes of the Future” by David Cronenberg and “Triangle of Sadness” by Ruben Estlund. The Greek presence is complemented by the film “Burning Days” directed by Emin Alpes, which has a Greek co-producer and competes in the Un Certain Regard program.
